About the Training
The Michael Chekhov Acting Technique® provides practical tools that guide the actor toward the true expression of their own abilities and individual creativity.
It simultaneously cultivates the actor's conscious presence, creative willpower, and sensory perception.
This process activates all known and hitherto unfamiliar capabilities of the actor, carrying them beyond their own limitations into a state of complete "naturalness". Its effect is felt immediately.
The actor learns to trust their own inspirations and gifts. It regards every participant as an autonomous creative artist.
One of its primary instruments is imagination — activating creative visualization and generating atmosphere. The actor can employ an Imaginary Body or a Psychophysical Gesture to craft and explore their character. Through this, they discover its movement, speech, inner feelings, and the distinct world in which the character exists.
The Michael Chekhov Acting Technique® centers upon the creative power of the imagination and the living presence of the human threefold unity (thinking, willing, sensing). Through the exercises, it not only engages capacities the actor already applies consciously, but also summons latent abilities to enrich their expressive palette.
The method views the actor not merely as an isolated individual performer, but as part of an ensemble created in harmony with fellow actors and the surrounding environment (space, time, light, sound, scent, color…).
The complete 5-module curriculum provides comprehensive, essential knowledge of the Michael Chekhov method, equipping graduates with immediate, daily practical exercises.
Each module comprises a complete, intensive training day from 10:00 to 17:00 covering its specific domain. Participating in any single module offers direct insight into the approach and principles of the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique® through individual and ensemble exercises, experienced and assimilated within the unity of thinking, willing, and sensing. Completing multiple modules delivers a comprehensive mastery of the technique grounded in personal practice.
The modules explore the individual and collective possibilities of character creation through the practical application of core elements of the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique®.
Participants completing the full series receive a certificate of completion.
