Attitude (qualities and quantities)

Authenticity and truth on stage, qualities and quantities, and how relationships to people and characters shape theatrical work.

Experiencing a character's relationship to other characters and to the environment. The triad of thinking-willing-feeling, the effects of the radiation of the character, the archetypal qualities of the four elements (earth, water, fire, air), intensity and sustain, and the impact of qualities and quantities on the scene and audience.

Michael Chekhov's Acting Technique® focuses on the creative power of the imagination and the presence of the human triad of thinking, sensing, and acting. During the exercises, this not only activates abilities that the actor consciously uses, but also enriches their existing tools by revealing hidden creative capacities.

Michael Chekhov's Acting Technique® approaches the actor not merely as an individual player, but as a whole created together with other actors and the environment (space, time, lights, sounds, scents, colors…).

The complete 5-module training provides comprehensive, essential knowledge of the Michael Chekhov method, putting practical exercises into participants' hands that can be applied immediately in daily artistic work.

Each module spans one full training day, 10:00-17:00, forming a comprehensive standalone unit on its topic. Choosing any single module offers immediate insight into the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique® and its unique practical approach. Through individual and group exercises, participants experience and internalize the method through the unity of thinking, sensing, and willing. Completing several modules provides comprehensive mastery through direct personal practice.

The modules explore individual and ensemble character-building opportunities through the practical application of core elements of the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique®.

Participants completing the entire training series receive a certificate of completion.

About the Training

The Michael Chekhov Acting Technique® provides the actor with practical tools that lead directly to the genuine expression of their personal abilities and individual creativity.

Simultaneously, it develops the actor's conscious presence, creative willpower, and sensory perception.

This process activates every known and hitherto hidden ability of the actor, carrying them beyond their perceived limits into a state of complete "naturalness". Its effect is immediately tangible.

The actor learns to trust their own inspirations and creative capacities, viewing everyone as a free creative artist.

One of its primary instruments is imagination — activating imaginative power and cultivating atmosphere. The actor can engage an Imaginary Body or Psychophysical Gesture to form and explore character, discovering movement, voice, inner feelings, and the surrounding world in which that character lives.
