Character Building - Composition (conflict, climax, pause, polarity) - Michael Chekhov Acting Technique®

How narrative structure - from beginning to end - shapes the performance, directing, and the rehearsal process; focusing on conflict, climax, pause, and polarity.

Michael Chekhov's Acting Technique® focuses on the creative power of the imagination and the presence of the triple unity of man (thinking, sensing, acting). During the exercises, this not only activates abilities that the actor consciously uses, but also enriches their existing tools by revealing hidden abilities.

Michael Chekhov's Acting Technique® considers the actor not only as an individual performer, but as an integrated whole formed together with fellow actors and the environment (space, time, lights, sounds, scents, colors...).

The complete 5-module training series provides comprehensive, essential knowledge of the Michael Chekhov method, placing practical exercises that can be applied immediately and in everyday creative practice into the hands of participants.

Each module spans a single training day (10:00-17:00) as a coherent, comprehensive unit dedicated to its topic. By choosing any single module, participants gain clear insight into the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique® method and approach, experiencing and mastering it through individual and ensemble exercises in the unity of thinking, action, and perception. Completing several modules builds comprehensive mastery through first-hand personal experience.

The modules explore the individual and ensemble possibilities of the character-building process through the practical application of the core elements of the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique®.

Participants who complete the full training series receive a certificate of completion.

About the Training

The Michael Chekhov Acting Technique® provides practical tools that guide the actor toward true expression of their own artistic abilities and individual creativity.

At the same time, it cultivates the actor's conscious presence, creative willpower, and sensory perception.

This process activates every known and hidden ability of the actor, carrying them beyond conventional personal boundaries into a state of organic, complete naturalness. Its impact is immediately felt.

The actor learns to trust their own creative inspirations and innate capacities, viewing everyone as a free creative artist.

One of its primary tools is imagination - activating the imaginative force and creating the atmosphere. The actor can work with an Imaginary Body or Psychophysical Gesture to develop and understand their character, discovering its unique movement, speech, feelings, and the world in which the character lives.
